Great wine always starts with great grapes. Our primary grape sources are Red Willow Vineyard and Les Vignes de Marcoux in Yakima Valley. These vines are carefully tended by Mike Sauer and his son, Jonathon Sauer. For nearly 40 years the Sauer family has been responsible for some of the best fruit for many award winning wines from Washington. They were the first to bring the Syrah and Sangiovese varietals to Washington State and, in doing so, set the stage for many great wines.

With the history of our grapes, it is no surprise that our first and signature wines are Sangiovese and Syrah.  Although our passion is for 100% varietals, we invite you to also experience our blends.

A medium to full bodied wine with silky tannins and balanced fruit that mirrors the nose and finishes with dusted blackberry, vanilla, and cocoa. It pairs well with steak, lamb, and savory cheeses.

Martedi Sangiovese – 2008

Vintage, Yakima valley. $20

100% Sangiovese as 75% Grosso and 25% Piccolo

On the nose this wine is reminiscent of dried flowers and candied cherry fruit. Soft and mellow on the palate with
noticeable fruit acidity that carries tart cherry and dark raspberry flavors through the lingering finish. This is a very smooth and delicious wine. We recommend it with any tomato based dishes, pasta noodles, roasted pork loin, any eggplant dish, and sausage and pepper meals.

Martedi Riserva – 2007
Vintage, Yakima Valley. $32

100% Sangiovese Grosso

This wine was aged two years in seasoned French oak barrels and one year in bottle before it was released.  It is an even balance
of fruit and acid and fills the palate with deep dark cherry fruit and exotic spices while finishing with pleasent fruit acidity and long soft silky tannins.

Martedi Giovanni Syrah – 2008

Vintage, Yakima Valley. $22

100% Syrah

We matured this wine in neutral French oak barrels for sixteen months after the long cool growing season of 2008. This gave the grapes a natural balance of fruit flavors and fruit acidity. The resulting wine exhibits a full mouth feel with deep dark blackberry fruit, dried meat overtones, and spices that stay on the palate long into the lingering finish. Enjoy this wine with wild game, hearty stews, barbecued ribs or rack of lamb.

Martedi Riesling – 2009
Vintage, Yakima Valley. $15

100% Dry Riesling

Picked at optimal ripeness for a balance of sugars and acid, this wine was slowly fermented at an average of 54 degrees over a two month period. It is crisp and long on the palate with typical minerality, and hints of white peach and citrus flavors. Pairs well with any shellfish, dried meats with a particular match for spicy Asian cuisine.
